Spiritual Lesson
Jesus warned in the parable of the ten virgins that only those with oil in their lamps were ready when the Bridegroom came:
“And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered… Not so.” – Matthew 25:8-9, KJV
Ellen G. White emphasized readiness:
“The oil of grace is obtained from Christ alone, through connection with Him.” (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 408)
Just as an oil lamp must stay filled, our souls must stay supplied with the grace of Christ.
Closing Thought
An oil lamp lights the home in physical darkness, but only Christ, the Light of the World, can light the soul in the world’s spiritual darkness.
